How Hemp Helps the Planet

Eleven years ago hemp was not on our lawmakers' minds; today it is the law.

We have gone a long way toward a hemp economy that is good for business, the environment, and the people. Together we have worked to educate lawmakers, farmers, and researchers about the benefits of hemp. We have overcome the initial objections by the Florida Department of Agriculture, elected a hemp-friendly Commissioner of Agriculture, and made a research program viable. We added private partners to work with our land-grant Universities to realize the full potential of a hemp industry for our state. Together we are introducing products to the economy that will change the way Florida grows our future.
